Product overview

Custom LBO crystals can be specified with application-specific phase-matching cuts, dimensions, surface finish, and optical coatings.

LBO (lithium triborate, LiB₃O₅) is a nonlinear optical crystal widely used for frequency conversion in high-power and high-energy laser systems. Its high laser damage resistance, small spatial walk-off and broad phase-matching range make it suitable for demanding nonlinear optical applications.

Typical applications include frequency doubling from 1064 nm to 532 nm, third-harmonic generation at 355 nm, and corresponding frequency-conversion schemes for 1030 nm and 1053 nm laser systems.

Key advantages

  • Broad UV-to-IR transparency
  • High laser damage threshold
  • Relatively small spatial walk-off
  • Wide angular acceptance
